Growth Mindset: How to Help Your Brain As You Age
Growth mindset refers to the belief that our capacities and talents can improve over time. That intelligence is malleable. It stands in contrast to a fixed mindset, where we believe that things like intelligence are pre-determined and set in stone.
Not surprisingly, possessing a growth mindset is positively related to cognitive function as we age. We share two tips for building your growth mindset, which you can start working on, today!
1) Neuroplasticity works at all ages. Start treating your brain like a muscle that you need to work out on a daily basis.
2) You are in the driver's seat. Reframe feelings of being stuck or helpless with the idea that yes, you have potential! You have choices.
